Thou hath must clean

To clean or not to clean, that IS the question. Thou hath do thy duty, woman, thou must forsake all other funnery and festivities. For if thou hath not cleaned, then thou hath feel the wrath of the guilt, the wrath of the tortured, the wrath of the evil filth that lives amongst us. Do this! Do this now, and then thou shall feel the goodness of the purity, the truth shall be seen, and the clothing shall be freed!
FREE AT LAST!

YES, I'm going to start cleaning out my closet now. Curtain closed.
Good night all.

Togetherness

my boys are sitting on the curb together under the mailbox now, waiting for Christopher's friend to pick him up to spend the night. Gabriel is having such a hard time knowing that he can not go. they look so sweet out there just talking, letting the breeze blow their hair. i would love to keep that moment frozen in time, or at least for a good long while. those two are inseparable so it is so hard when one does something on their own. my dream is for my two sons to stay close throughout all their lives, sharing joys and sadness, supporting and encouraging each other, and always having the other one to love. yes, they are only 8 & 6, but that is a mother's wish. especially when they are fighting, name calling, hitting, teasing, and all those other brother stuff. well, they are up, chasing each other now, chasing cars, destroying flower petals, doing kung fu kicks at each other's faces. Okay everyone, no worries, things are back to normal.

Boys will be Boys

I haven't had a chance to write about my two sweet boys, Christopher and Gabriel. I will write on each one later, when they are not hovering around. They love to come see what I'm doing on the computer. We have to have a sign up sheet in our house so we all get our computer time. They seem to think that my time can be their time too! We are having a relaxed but fun time so far while we are home for spring break. We decided to stay around town this year since we are planning a big trip to Florida when school gets out. Here is what we have done so far:

  • Slept in until 8:00 am!  Whoo Hoo!
  • Stayed up past 10:00 pm  - partaaayyy!
  • Ate chocolate donuts one morning -  sugar rush!
  • Ate Mexican food at Maria's for lunch - yummmm!
  • Went to see 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' - very funny
  • Ate a double-dip cone from Braum's - they never get two scoops
  • Went to the fitness center so mom could work off the ice cream - not so fun ;-(
  • Watched 4 movies in a row in mom & dad's bed while it snowed all day - cozy...
  • Played 'Just Dance' Wii - Gabriel's favorite dance is Elvis?? Christopher's is 'Eye of the Tiger" and mom's is Kc & Sunshine Band? " We are all pretty good, actually!
Our next plan of action is soccer practice, going to the Nature Center for Scouts, soccer practice, Chuck E Cheese, NW Ark. ice skating with Scouts, and baseball practice. That is a pretty packed week. It may
not be DisneyWorld, but it will do for this year.  Good times, good times...

Snowflakes on the first day of spring

Snowflakes falling in a heavy fog...feel the cold through the glass pane door. What you say? But it is the first day of spring! Welcome to the unpredictable weather of western Arkansas. Actually, it is very predictable in fact. I can remember several spring breaks growing up in which we had snow. It tapered off in the 80's and 90's, but now it is swinging back towards the northern type weather. Very interesting to those who are interested in geothermal climate trends (I'm sure someone out there has a passion for that). Since I do not, I will view our temperamental moods of our region's weather as only a symbol of sacrifice during Lent and look forward to the real spring that will come soon with Easter. Hope is in our hearts! What I would love for a sunny day with blue skies. I know I complain about being outside during spring with these nasty allegens, but I will gladly take the post nasal drip for sunshine.

Spring Cleaning

Spring Break always means spring cleaning to me. I don't know why, but it is always what I do during Spring Break. Maybe because it is also allergy season for me and I can't breathe, so I start cleaning before the dust bunnies and yellow pollen attacks the house. It is a beautiful day outside but I have no interest in being out 'there' where all those nasty invaders are waiting to attack my nasal and sinus passages. Can't wait to start allergy shots next week! Don't want to be one of those people wearing a mask

should i blog?

i'm trying this blog again. maybe the timing is right now. for someone who is scattered, probably add, over-stretched, time deprived - this may not be the best idea. but i'm going to try it again. would love to be a part of all these wonderful women who have time to blog about their lives. yes, this time it will work. YES! it seems more fun than facebook. actually getting bored with facebook. again the add kicking in.
if any of you who stumble onto this have any words of wisdom for me, please let me know!
